Parsley - Hamburg
This variety is grown for its thick, fleshy root resembling a small parsnip. The root is used in soups and stews, and the leaves, while coarser than regular parsley, may be used the same way.
Sow from March onwards in the final location. Allow about 40cm spacing between rows. Germination takes around 2 to 4 weeks. Thin to 20cm apart. Harvest from October onwards, flavour improves with frost.
