Cucumber - Femspot
This variety is an old favourite. Femspot F1 is an early cropping, all female cucumber of superb quality, producing long, bitter free, ribbed cucumbers. These plants need heat to get the best results and are better suited to indoor growing in a greenhouse.
Sow the seeds from February to May on the seed edge to prevent rotting, 1.5cm deep in individual 9cm pots. Plant under glass at a constant day and night temperature of 21°C. As soon as the seedlings have formed 3 true leaves, transplant into 15cm pots. When the plants are about 10cm tall, plant out into final positions into large pots or growbags under glass. Provide some form of support and tie in stems as required. Male flowers (those with no fruit behind) can appear under stress conditions, these should be removed immediately. Ready to harvest from July to September.
