Antirrhinum - Twinny Appleblossom
These dwarf, bushy, basal branching plants become smothered in beautiful apple blossom pink double blooms. As the blooms are so tightly furled, bees find it difficult to enter for pollination resulting in longer lasting flower displays in borders or containers. The plants grow to a height of around 25-30cm and give outstanding garden performance in all weather conditions.
Sow from February to March on the surface of lightly firmed, moist seed compost in pots or trays. Keep at a temperature of 20-25C. After sowing, do not cover as the light helps germination which usually takes 10-21 days. Gradually acclimatise young plants to outdoor conditions for a few weeks before planting out after all risk of frost, 30cm apart in well-drained soil in full sun.
