Balloon Platycodon grandiflorus
This plant gets its name from the large number of blue flowers which look like balloons while in bud. The flowers become bell-shaped when fully grown, and the leaves of this plant have been used as a herb.
Sow the seed from April to June in open ground or under cover. The seedlings can be planted out in the autumn and will flower the following summer.
