Sowing Instructions

When to Sow

Sow indoors from February to April.

How to Sow

Sow seeds ¼ inch (0.5–1 cm) deep in small pots of quality seed compost.

Keep the compost moist.

Germination takes 10–21 days at 21°C+ (70°F+) — warmth is essential.

After Germination

Transplant to individual pots when seedlings have true leaves.

Grow on in warmth and good light.

Planting Out

When plants are 4–5 inches tall, transplant into final pots or a greenhouse bed.

Space 18 inches apart.

Set the root ball ½ inch below the soil surface for stability.

Feeding

Start feeding with tomato fertiliser once flowering begins.

Harvesting

Pick fruits when they reach full size (16 cm) and develop their final deep red colour.
