How to Grow ‘Spinning Tops’ Chilli Pepper

Sow indoors January–April at 20–28°C in a warm propagator or sunny windowsill. Use fine seed compost and cover lightly. Keep moist but not waterlogged until germination.

Transplant seedlings into small pots once they develop true leaves. Move into final pots (7–10 litres) as they grow and provide a cane or support, as indeterminate plants will continue to climb and produce throughout the season.

Grow in a greenhouse for best results, or place outdoors in a warm, sheltered spot once frost has passed. Water regularly and feed weekly with a high-potash fertiliser.

Harvest fruits when fully red and glossy.

Safety note: Handle fruits with care. Wash hands thoroughly after handling due to their heat level.
