When to Sow
Sow indoors from March to June. Only plant outdoors once all risk of frost has passed.
How to Sow
Fill small pots with good-quality compost.
Sow one seed per pot, about 1–2 cm deep.
Water gently and keep the compost moist, not soaked.
Temperature
Keep at 18–22°C for fast, reliable germination.
After Germination
Seedlings usually appear in 7–10 days.
Grow on in a bright, warm spot.
Move plants to larger pots once roots fill the container.
Hardening Off
Before placing outside, harden plants off for 7–10 days by gradually introducing them to outdoor conditions.
Planting Out
Once night temperatures stay above 10°C, transplant into their final pot (20–25 L). Water well and keep them in full sun.
