Oenothera - Evening Primrose - Copper Canyon

In the spring and summer long succession of large, fragrant, pale pink flowers appear, whilst the previous day's flowers fold up and turn red. This plant was discovered in 2003 in a damp meadow, 7,000 feet above Copper Canyon in Southern Mexico.

For best results, sow seeds onto a good soil-based compost. Cover the seeds with fine grit or compost to approximately their own depth. Although they can be sown at any time, these seeds may sometimes wait for spring before emerging, but spring sowing will obviously give them a full season of growth.
