How to Grow French Garlic Bulbs
Plant garlic cloves in autumn, ideally from October to November, though planting can continue into early winter if conditions allow.
Split bulbs into individual cloves just before planting. Plant cloves pointed end up, around 5 cm deep, spacing 15 cm apart, with 30 cm between rows.
Choose a sunny position with well-drained soil. Avoid waterlogged ground, especially in winter. Keep beds weed-free during growth.
Harvest garlic in early to mid-summer once leaves begin to yellow. Lift bulbs carefully and dry thoroughly before storing in a cool, dry place.
