Title

Chilli Pepper ‘Fruity Volcano’ Seeds

Fruity Volcano is a striking Capsicum chinense chilli pepper producing masses of glossy, wrinkled fruits with an intense fruity flavour and serious heat. The attractive chillies grow to around 7 cm long and deliver a powerful punch of approximately 135,000 Scoville Heat Units (SHU), making this variety ideal for chilli lovers who enjoy flavour as much as fire.

Highly productive and ornamental, Fruity Volcano produces 50+ fruits per plant, creating a dramatic display in greenhouses, patio pots, or sheltered outdoor containers. Beneath the heat lies a bold, fruity character that works beautifully when used fresh in hot salads, chopped into salsas, or dried and ground into vibrant Latin-style sauces.

With its combination of productivity, flavour, and visual appeal, Fruity Volcano is an excellent choice for growers seeking a standout hot chilli with versatile culinary uses.

How to Grow Chilli Pepper ‘Fruity Volcano’

Sow seeds indoors from January to March using a heated propagator or warm greenhouse, maintaining temperatures of 25–28°C for best germination. Sow thinly and cover lightly with fine compost or vermiculite.

Pot on seedlings once large enough to handle. As plants grow, transfer into their final containers and provide staking or support, as indeterminate plants will continue to grow and fruit throughout the season.

Grow under cover for the most reliable results, or place outdoors in a warm, sheltered position once all risk of frost has passed. Water regularly and feed weekly with a high-potash fertiliser once flowering begins.

Harvest fruits when fully coloured for maximum heat and flavour.

⚠️ Safety note: These chillies are very hot. Wear gloves when handling fruits and avoid touching eyes or skin. Wash hands thoroughly after handling.
