Strawberry Spinach - Chenopodium Foliosum

Strawberry Spinach is easy to grow, and has spiky leaves and produces edible strawberry-like fruit during the autumn. It is a highly attractive dual purpose plant for both the herb and flower garden. It grows to about 40cm high, and the light green leaves can be cooked and used like spinach.

Sow indoors from February to April in good quality compost. Germination takes up to two weeks. Pot up when large enough to handle and grow on in a cool but frost free area. Harden off and plant out after the risk of frost has passed. Can also be sown direct in final location.
