Hyssop Blue
Hyssop Blue is an aromatic subshrub that grows to 50cm, with pretty flowers in whorls up the stem. The essential oil is an antiseptic.
Sow outdoors in drills, in May, with thin to 45 cm spacing. Or sow undercover in March to April, 0.5 cm deep, in separate pots if possible. Plant out in late May.
Hyssop grows best in light soils and sunny positions. Good in mixed borders as edging (use 22-30 cm spacing) or in containers.
