Where In trays of moist compost.
How Sow thinly, cover lightly with compost and firm gently. Cover with glass, polythene or propagator lid and keep at 20°C. Keep moist.
Care Remove cover as seedlings appear. When large enough transplant 5cm apart in trays or to individual 7.5cm pots of compost. Gradually acclimatise plants to outside conditions from late May onwards (avoid frosts). Then transplant 30cm apart in flowering position.
Flowers July to October, the same year.
For outdoor sowing
When April to July.
Where In a prepared seed bed.
How Sow thinly in rows 20cm apart. Cover lightly with fine soil. Firm gently and keep moist.
Care When large enough thin to 10cm apart. Transplant 30cm apart in flowering position from September to October.
Flowers July to October, the following year. Plant where the leaves can be brushed past to release their scent.
