When February to April.
Where In trays of seed compost.
How Sow thinly, cover with 1.5cm of fine soil. Firm gently and keep moist. Cover tray with glass, polythene or propagator lid. Keep at approx. 13°C. Seedlings appear 14-21 days.
Care Remove cover when seedlings appear. Transplant to further trays if necessary. When approx. 10cm tall stand outside for a few days (avoid frosts). Transplant in April to May to final position with 60cm between plants and rows. Firm in well, keep moist and weed free.
Harvest September to December.
For outdoor sowing
When March to April.
Where In a prepared seed bed.
How Sow thinly in rows 15cm apart. Cover with 1.5cm of fine soil. Firm gently and keep moist.
Care When 10cm tall transplant into final position with 60cm between plants and rows. Keep moist and weed free.
Harvest September to December. Harvest some plants early while sprouts are still small and tender.
