Where In trays of seed compost.
How Sow thinly, do not cover seed with compost. Firm gently and keep moist. Cover tray with glass, polythene or propagator lid. Keep at approx. 20-25°C. Seedlings appear 21-28 days.
Care Remove cover when seedlings appear. When large enough transplant 5cm apart in trays. Grow on at approx. 15°C. Gradually acclimatise plants to outside conditions from late May onwards (avoid frosts). Transplant 20cm apart in flowering position. Keep moist and weed free.
Flowers June to October, the same year. Remove dead heads to prolong flowering Do not allow young plants to dry out.
