One of the earliest varieties to harvest, giving sweet and tasty, small roots with little core, throughout the summer from repeated sowings. For outdoor sowing
When February to July.
Where In a prepared seed bed.
How Sow thinly in rows 25cm apart. Cover lightly with 1.5cm of fine soil. Firm gently and keep moist. Seedlings appear 14-21 days. For continuous crops sow every 2-3 weeks.
Care When harvesting, select alternate young carrots from the row, at approx. 7.5cm long, allowing the remainder to develop fully. No other thinning is needed if sown thinly. Keep well watered to prevent the roots splitting. Keep weed free at all times.
Harvest May to October. Lift remainder in October, remove soil from roots and store in dry sand. To help deter carrot fly do not leave any thinnings on the ground.
