Deliciously firm and crunchy, sweet Nantes type roots with excellent flavour. A British variety specially bred to deter carrot fly attacks. For outdoor sowing
When March to July.
Where In a prepared seed bed. Make sure the soil is cultivated to a good depth.
How Sow thinly in rows 30cm apart. Cover lightly with 1.5cm of fine soil. Firm gently and keep moist. Seedlings appear 14-21 days. For continuous crops sow every 2-3 weeks.
Care When harvesting, select alternate young carrots from the row, allowing the remainder to develop fully. No other thinning is needed if sown thinly. Keep well watered to prevent the roots splitting. Keep weed free at all times.
Harvest June to December. Lift remainder in October to December, remove soil from roots and store in dry sand. To further help deter carrot fly do not leave any thinnings on the ground.
