When February to April.
Where In trays or pots of moist compost.
How Sow thinly. Cover lightly with a fine layer of compost. Firm gently. Cover tray with glass, polythene or propagator lid. Keep at 15-20°C. Keep moist.
Care Remove cover when seedlings appear. When large enough transplant to individual 7.5cm pots of compost. Gradually acclimatise plants to outside conditions from late May onwards (avoid frosts). Then transplant 60cm apart in flowering position, preferably where the roots are shaded. Keep moist and weed free at all times.
Flowers July to October, the same year. Trim plants after flowering to maintain shape and vigour.
