A short lived perennial usually grown as an annual. This unique variety is possibly the most eye-catching of all China Pinks, for beds, borders and containers. For indoor sowing
When February to March.
Where In trays of moist compost.
How Sow thinly, cover with a fine layer of compost. Firm gently. Cover with glass, polythene or propagator lid. Keep at 15-20°C. Keep moist.
Care Remove cover when seedlings appear. When large enough transplant 5cm apart in trays. Grow on at 15°C. Gradually acclimatise plants to outside conditions from late May onwards (avoid frosts). Then transplant 15cm apart in flowering position in June. Keep moist and weed free.
Flowers June to October, the same year. Remove dead heads to prolong flowering. Grow in beds alongside patios or in containers to make the most of the eye-catching display.
