Where In trays of moist compost.
How Sow thinly, cover with a fine layer of compost. Firm gently. Cover with glass, polythene or propagator lid. Keep at 15-20°C. Keep moist.
Care Remove cover when seedlings appear. When large enough transplant 5cm apart in trays. Grow on at 15°C. Gradually acclimatise plants to outside conditions from late May onwards (avoid frosts). Then transplant 15cm apart in flowering position in June. Keep moist and weed.
Flowers June to October, the same year. Remove dead heads to prolong flowering. Grow in beds alongside patios or in containers to make the most of the scent.
