Where In trays or pots of moist compost.
How Sow thinly, cover lightly with compost. Cover with glass, polythene or propagator lid. Keep at approx. 15-20°C, a warm windowsill is generally sufficient. Seedlings appear 21-28 days. Keep moist.
Care Remove cover as seedlings appear. When large enough transplant into 7.5cm pots. Gradually acclimatise plants to outside conditions from late May onwards (avoid frosts). Transplant 30cm apart in flowering position from early June. Keep moist and weed free at all times.
Flowers June to September, from the first year. Trim plants back after flowering to retain shape. Contain invasive roots in containers.
