A fabulour selection of large 'strawflowers.' Easy to grow favourite for dried flower as well as border displays. Especially attractive planted in drifts. For indoor sowing
When February to April.
Where In trays of moist compost.
How Sow thinly, cover with 0.5cm of compost.
Firm gently and keep moist. Cover tray with glass, polythene or propagator lid. Keep at approx. 15-20°C. Seedlings appear 14-28 days.
Care Remove cover when seedlings appear. When large enough transplant 5cm apart in trays. Gradually acclimatise plants to outside conditions from late May onwards (avoid frosts). Transplant 20cm apart in flowering position and keep moist.
Flowers June to September. To dry, cut before fully open and hang upside down in airy room.
