When March to May.
Where In a prepared seed bed in flowering position.
How Sow thinly in rows 30cm apart. Cover lightly with 1.5cm of fine soil. Firm gently and keep moist.
Care When large enough thin to 5cm apart. After 2-3 weeks thin to 25cm apart.
Flowers June to October.
For indoor sowing
When March to April.
Where In trays of seed compost.
How Sow thinly, cover with a fine layer of compost. Firm gently and keep moist. Cover tray with glass, polythene or propagator lid. Keep at approx. 18-20°C. Seedlings appear 14-28 days.
Care Remove cover when seedlings appear. When large enough transplant 5cm apart in trays. Gradually acclimatise plants to outside conditions from late May onwards (avoid frosts). Then transplant 25cm apart in flowering position.
Flowers June to October. Remove dead heads to prolong flowering. Pinch out tips when 10cm tall for bushier plants.
