Where In trays or individual cell modules of seed compost.
How Sow thinly, cover with 1.5cm of compost. Firm gently and keep moist. Cover with glass, polythene or propagator lid. Keep at approx. 15°C. Seedlings appear 14-21 days.
Care Remove cover when seedlings appear. If necessary transplant to further cells or trays. Stand outside for a few days from late May (avoid frosts). When 10cm tall transplant into holes 15cm apart with 30cm between rows.
Harvest November to March. Earth up the stems in autumn for extra whiteness.
