When February to April.
Where In trays of seed compost.
How Sow thinly, cover with 0.5cm of compost. Firm gently and keep moist. Cover tray with glass, polythene or propagator lid. Keep at approx. 15-20°C. Seedlings appear 14-21 days.
Care Remove cover when seedlings appear. When large enough transplant 5cm apart in trays. Gradually acclimatise plants to outside conditions from late May onwards (avoid frosts). Transplant 30cm apart in flowering position. Keep moist and weed free.
Flowers June to September.
For outdoor sowing
When April to May.
Where In a prepared seed bed in flowering position.
How Sow thinly in rows 40cm apart. Cover with 0.5cm of fine soil. Firm gently and keep moist.
Care When large enough thin to 30cm apart. Keep moist and weed free.
Flowers June to September. Cut flowers are best picked when buds
are just showing colour.
