How Sow thinly in rows 30cm apart. Cover lightly with 1.5cm of fine soil. Firm gently and keep moist. Seedlings appear 7-14 days. For continuous crops sow every 2-3 weeks.
Care When large enough thin to 25cm apart. Transplant thinnings 25cm apart. Keep moist and weed free. Protect late sowings with cloches to overwinter.
Harvest May to October and April to May from autumn sowings. Early crops may also be sown under glass in February and planted out in April. For maximum ‘freshness’ cut lettuces in the morning or evening.
