Where In pots of seed compost.
How Sow singly into pots edgeways into the compost. Cover with 1.5cm of compost. Firm gently and keep moist. Cover with glass, polythene or propagator lid. Keep at approx. 15-20°C. Seedlings appear 7-14 days.
Care Remove cover when seedlings appear. At 5-6 leaf stage, stand outside for a few days late May (avoid frosts). Transplant 90cm apart in growing position.
Harvest June to October. Pick regularly to encourage cropping.

Where In a well prepared seed bed in growing position.
How Sow 2 seeds per position, 90cm apart.
Cover lightly with 1.5cm of fine soil. Firm gently and keep moist.
Care Thin to one seedling per position.
Harvest June to October. Pick regularly to encourage cropping. Can also be cut as courgettes, but best grown as marrows.
