Delicate flowers bloom in the first year from an early sowing and can be treated as annuals. Lovely clear colours, for beds, borders and patio pots. For indoor sowing
When February to April.
Where In trays of moist compost.
How Sow thinly. Keep at 15-20°C. Do not cover the seed with compost. Firm gently and keep moist. Seedlings appear 14-28 days.
Care When large enough, transplant 5cm apart to further trays of compost. Gradually acclimatise plants to outside conditions from late May onwards (avoid frosts). Transplant 20cm apart in flowering position in June.
Flowers July to October, the same year.
For outdoor sowing
When April to July.
Where In a prepared seed bed.
How Sow thinly in rows 20cm apart. Firm gently and keep moist.
Care When large enough thin to 10cm apart. Transplant 20cm apart in flowering position.
Flowers June to October, the following year. Remove dead heads to prolong flowering.
