Johnsons - Runner Bean (dwarf) Hestia - 40 Seeds

Very attractive dwarf variety producing delicious full size pods and decorative bicolour flowers. Its compact size is ideal for patio containers, exposed areas or any garden where space is limited. Early and productive, for harvests over a good long season. For indoor sowing
When April to May.
Where In pots of moist compost.
How Sow one or two seeds per pot. Cover with 2.5cm of fine compost. Cover pots with glass or polythene. Firm gently and keep moist. Keep at approx. 15-20°C. Seedlings appear 7-14 days.
Care Remove cover when seedlings appear. Stand outside for a few days late May (avoid frosts). Transplant seedlings 25cm apart in rows 30cm apart or transplant to large pots or tubs.
Harvest July to October. Pick regularly to encourage further cropping.
For outdoor sowing
When May to early July.
Where In a prepared seed bed or in large pots.
How Sow 2 seeds together, spacing 25cm apart, in rows 30cm apart. Cover with 5cm of fine soil. Firm gently and keep moist.
Care When large enough thin to strongest seedling. Keep moist and weed free. Feed regularly.
Harvest July to October. Pick regularly to encourage further cropping. For highest yields, increase watering when plants begin flowering and pods start to set.
