Popular for its great flavour and productivity during hot summers when spinach usually struggles. Can be used in the same way as traditional spinach. For indoor sowing
When April to June.
Where In pots of seed compost.
How Sow thinly, cover with a fine layer of compost. Firm gently and keep moist. Cover with glass, polythene or propagator lid. Keep at approx. 20-25°C. Seedlings appear 14-28 days.
Care Remove cover when seedlings appear. Grow on at approx. 13-15°C. When large enough transplant singly to 7.5cm pots. Stand outside for a few days from June. Transplant 30cm apart in growing position. Provide support for plants to climb.
Harvest July to October. Prefers a sunny, sheltered location. Easy to grow in well watered containers.
