When April to May.
Where In a prepared seed bed in flowering position.
How Sow thinly in rows 30cm apart. Cover lightly with fine soil. Firm gently and keep moist.
Care When large enough thin to 20cm apart.
Flowers July to October. Remove dead heads to prolong flowering.
For indoor sowing
When March to April.
Where In individual pots or trays with separate cells of compost.
How Sow two seeds per pot, cover with a fine layer of compost. Firm gently and keep moist. Keep at 15-20°C. Seedlings appear 14-28 days.
Care Remove weaker seedling leaving one per position. Grow on at 13-15°C. Gradually acclimatise plants to outside conditions from late May onwards (avoid frosts). Transplant 20cm apart in flowering position. Keep moist and weed free.
Flowers July to October. Remove dead heads to prolong flowering. Avoid root disturbance when transplanting Zinnias.
