This is an early-flowering strain producing large clumps of grass-like foliage and strong tall spikes of firey colours of warm red and yellow flowers. This long lasting perennial grows to a height 80cm and is ideal for use as a cut flower.

Sow in March/April onto the surface of good free-draining seed compost and lightly cover the seed with a sprinkling of vermiculite. Place in a propagator or a warm place at a temperature of 18-20°C until after germination which usually takes 10-21 days. Transplant the seedlings when large enough to handle into pots or trays. Gradually acclimatise plants to cooler conditions for a few weeks before planting out 23cm apart after all risk of frost has passed.
