Brussel Sprouts Crispus F1 Hybrid
This is the answer to many gardeners prayers; this is a top quality variety with the added bonus of club root resistance. The plants are very reliable, producing a good crop of smooth, dark green sprouts, that hold well on the stalks .
Sow the seed from March to April thinly in trays or two seeds per cell in modules under glass at 13°C. Later sowings can be made into a seed bed in shallow drills 2cm deep in short rows. As soon as glasshouse seedlings show their first pair of leaves, prick off into trays 5cm apart or thin modules to one seedling per cell. Gradually harden off before planting out when about 15cm tall. Plant in beds 60cm between plants and 90cm between the rows. Outdoor sowings should be thinned to 7-10cm apart. Once plants are large enough, lift and transplant to their final planting positions, spaced the same as detailed above. Ready to harvest from September to November.
