Petunia Merlin is excellent on account of its dwarf, compact plant habit and uniformity over the entire flowering season. Plants do not spread out even after rain, with flowers reaching about 6.5cm in diameter.

Sow from February to March on the surface of good, free-draining seed compost and lightly cover with a sprinkling of vermiculite. Place in a propagator or a warm place at a temperature of 18-20°C until after germination which usually takes 10-21 days. Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle into pots or trays. Gradually acclimatise plants to cooler conditions for a few weeks before planting out after all risk of frost has passed, 15-30cm apart. Flowers from June onwards.
