Rudbeckia Rustic Dwarfs
Rustic Dwarfs produce large, single flowers in shades of bronze, mahogany and gold with a black centre. The flowers make a good contrast for brighter flowers in the border.
Sow from February to April on the surface of good, free-draining seed compost in pots or trays. Cover with a very fine sprinkling of compost or vermiculite. Place in a propagator or a warm place at a temperature of 20-25C until after germination which usually takes 7-21 days. Do not exclude light as this helps germination. Transplant seedlings when large enough to handle into pots or trays. Gradually acclimatise plants to cooler conditions for a few weeks before planting out after all risk of frost, 30cm apart. Flowers from July to August.
