Product Description
Swede Tweed
Tweed is a British bred, vigorous growing hybrid with good club root resistance. This hardy winter root vegetable is an attractive, well-formed, uniform, globe shape with purple shoulders and cream coloured flesh. Tweed grows particularly well in less fertile soil which is why it is a firm favourite with the home gardener.
Sow direct, from May to June, outdoors into shallow drills 2cm deep and 45cm between the rows. Gradually thin the seedlings as they grow to a final spacing of 10-15cm apart. Water regularly to avoid woody roots. A very hardy vegetable so can be harvested as required. Ready to harvest from October onwards.
