YVES RZ has narrow incised leaves with vibrant red/green colouring; they have a soft, flexible oakleaf texture and an interesting nutty flavour. Yves was developed to add diversity to the salad leaf segment. The variety is well adapted for mechanical harvesting, maintains good vigour in winter and is slow bolting in summer. Yves RZ is suitable for year-round production in most areas

Yves is a Salanova variety. With just one cut at the base, Salanova lettuce separates into multiple evenly proportioned, ready-to-eat, leaves. Salanova lettuce have up tot three times more useable leaves than traditional lettuce.

Yves RZ also benefits from the Rijk Zwaan Knox trait. Knox is a naturally occurring trait that has been bred into this variety. This trait delays the pinking of cut leaf surfaces, offering longer shelf life and a more attractive processed product. This means less food waste and more profit.
