Grass - Silver Grass Miscanthus Early Hybrids
This is a graceful grass with reed-like stems and tall feathery plumes. Ideal for mixed or herbaceous borders or pond side planting, reaching the height of 210cm.
Sow indoors for surest results, from January to May, 0.5cm deep, in trays of compost. Water well and enclose in a clear, plastic bag to retain humidity. Place on a kitchen windowsill. A temperature of 15-20°C (60-68°F) is ideal. Seedlings usually appear in 28-42 days. If not, place tray in the refrigerator for two weeks, then return to the warmth. Transplant seedlings individually to 7.5cm pots when large enough to handle. Gradually accustom young plants to outside conditions, before planting out into moist, fertile soil, from May to August, 90cm apart, when frosts are over. Flowers from August to October, the following year.
