Strawberry - Delican
This is an unusual variety with a fantastic "Japanese style", gourmet flavour. It gives reliable harvests of good sized fruits, great for pots, and are an excellent source of Vitamin C.
Sow indoors, from January to March. A warm kitchen windowsill is all you need for starting these seeds. Sow thinly on the surface of a small tray or pot of pre-watered compost. Place in a warm, light position. A temperature of 20°C is ideal. Keep moist. Seedlings usually appear in 14-21 days. Transplant to individual pots when 10cm tall. Grow on in cooler, but not cold conditions. Gradually accustom plants to outside conditions, before planting out, May-June, 25cm apart, into warm, well-drained soil, or individual containers, when frosts are over. Harvest from August to October.
