This bright and vibrant spencer type is proudly named after the 7 NHS Nightingale Hospitals that were set up as part of the response to the COVID-19 pandemic, and to honour all our amazing healthcare workers.

These eye-catching, bright blooms will bring a smile to your face with their marble effect petals and even though this year has been very difficult and tough, Britain’s favourite flower will help remind us of better times and how lucky we are to have our NHS, and to them, we say thank you.

Height: 180cm(6ft)

Plant Class: Hardy Annual (HA).

Sow indoors: for surest results, 1.5cm(½in) deep, 5 seeds per 12cm(5in) pot of compost. Water well and keep at approx. 15°C(60°F) is ideal. Seedlings usually appear in 12-21 days. Keep moist. Pinch out the growing tip when two pairs of leaves have formed to encourage bushy growth. Accustom plants to outside conditions (avoid frosts), before planting out 30cm(1ft) apart. Support with tall canes or netting.

Sow outdoors: for ease, where they are to flower, 1.5cm(½in) deep into finely prepared soil which has already been watered. Sow 2 seeds together every 30cm(1ft). Remove weaker seedling, which can then be transplanted. Provide plants with support.
