A temperature of 15-20oC is ideal. Seedlings usually appear in 14-21 days. Transplant to other trays 5cm apart when large enough to handle. Grow on in cooler, but not cold conditions. Gradually accustom plants to outside conditions (avoid frosts), before planting out 25cm apart in rows 30cm apart. Plant so that the upper swollen part of the root sits on the surface of the soil.
