Drought tolerant, Prairie Coneflowers Easy going and free-flowering, these hard-working plants are heat and drought tolerant. When planted en masse they will create a beautiful 'prairie' effect in the garden. Sow February to April in trays of seed compost. Sow thinly, cover lightly with a fine layer of compost. Firm gently and keep moist. Cover tray with glass, polythene or propagator lid. Keep at approx. 15-20�C. Seedlings appear 14-28 days. Remove cover when seedlings appear. When large enough transplant 5cm apart in trays. Stand outside for a few days late May (avoid frosts). Transplant 40cm apart in flowering position. Keep moist and weed free. Flowers July to October, the following year An ideal choice for open and exposed, dry, sunny locations, wildflower meadows and gravel gardens.
