How to Grow Onion Sets ‘Sturon’
Store onion sets in a cool, dry, frost-free place until planting to prevent early sprouting.
Plant sets outdoors from March to April, or earlier in mild areas if soil conditions allow. Plant each set with the pointed tip just visible above the soil surface, spacing sets around 10–15 cm apart, with 30 cm between rows.
Choose a sunny position with well-drained soil. Keep beds weed-free and water during dry spells.
Harvest onions in late summer once the foliage begins to yellow and fall over. Lift bulbs and allow them to dry thoroughly before storing in a cool, dry place.
