Orange Glow is a productive Capsicum baccatum chilli pepper producing long, glossy orange fruits with a mild-to-medium heat and excellent culinary versatility. Reaching around 11 cm in length, the smooth, bright fruits add vibrant colour and gentle warmth to a wide range of dishes.
With a heat level of around 10,000 Scoville Heat Units (SHU), Orange Glow delivers a pleasant, manageable heat that enhances flavour without overpowering it. How to Grow Chilli Pepper ‘Orange Glow’
Sow seeds indoors from January to March using a heated propagator or warm windowsill. Maintain temperatures of 20–25°C for reliable germination. Sow thinly and cover lightly with compost.
Transplant seedlings into individual pots once large enough to handle. As plants grow, pot on into their final containers and provide staking or support, as indeterminate plants will continue to grow and crop throughout the season.
Grow under cover for best results, or place outdoors in a warm, sheltered spot once all risk of frost has passed. Water regularly and feed weekly with a balanced or high-potash fertiliser once flowering begins.
Harvest fruits when fully orange for the best flavour and colour.
⚠️ Handling advice: Although milder than many chillies, fruits can still irritate skin. Wash hands thoroughly after handling and avoid touching eyes.
