This variety does not produce the large central head of the hybrids, but throws a profusion of individual spears over a long period starting in August.
Sow the seeds thinly in a well-prepared seed bed in April and May, 2cm deep in rows 15cm apart. As the seedlings appear, thin to 7cm apart. When they are about 10cm tall, transplant to the growing site about 45cm apart, planting them 2cm deeper than in the seed bed.
