How to Grow Shallot Sets ‘Red Sun’
Store shallot sets in a cool, dry, frost-free place until planting to prevent early sprouting.
Plant sets outdoors from March to April, or earlier in mild conditions if soil allows. Plant each set with the pointed tip just visible above the soil surface, spacing sets 20–25 cm apart, with 30 cm between rows.
Grow in a sunny position with well-drained soil. Keep beds weed-free and water during dry spells.
