Cucumber - Picklebush
This variety produces white-spined fruits which have a classic pickle look, being deep-green with paler stripes. The fruits grow up to 11 cm long and 4 cm across at maturity, but can be used at any size. The vines are very productive and compact, reaching only 0.6 m long, as well as being tolerant of powdery mildew and cucumber mosaic virus.
Sow direct at about the time of last frost, or start earlier as transplants, provided the seedlings are set out before becoming rootbound. Cucumbers thrive in rich soil full of organic matter. Supply abundant moisture and keep picking mature fruit.
