Woolly Thistle - Cirsium Eriophorum
Woolly Thistle can grow to up to 1.5m in height, baring large flowers. It is the tallest but scarcest UK thistle. The globular flowers appear from July to September, and are reddish purple in colour with woolly haired bracts. As with the other thistles, it is attractive to a wide range of insects.
